Created by fixed-income portfolio managers, Dark Horse was formed to provide investors with an alternative to traditional investments by securitizing hard assets into an investment fund with the objective of generating income, hedging inflation/interest-rate risk, and reducing correlation with traditional markets. Our investment offerings are backed 100% by hard assets that you can actually see and touch.
Our Strategy
The first fund in our fund line-up is a high-yield income strategy that invests primarily in real-estate properties throughout the Shreveport/Bossier City area in Louisiana with both key qualitative and quantitative factors that would allow for maximum income generation through utilizing various vacation-rental platforms such as Airbnb & VRBO.
The Manager
Oren Welborn, CFA brings years of experience as a seasoned fixed-income portfolio manager from Argent Financial Group located in Ruston, La where he managed up to $1B in client assets for university endowments, municipalities, and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Argent, Oren served as the Assistant Treasurer for Midsouth bank
Oren Welborn, CFA brings years of experience as a seasoned fixed-income portfolio manager from Argent Financial Group located in Ruston, La where he managed up to $1B in client assets for university endowments, municipalities, and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Argent, Oren served as the Assistant Treasurer for Midsouth bank in Lafayette, La and as a trading analyst for J.P. Morgan in Brooklyn, NY. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Masters of Science in Finance from Texas A&M University - Commerce. He is also a CFA charterholder.
